Surprise! Happy Birthday!

Carley has been anxiously awaiting her birthday. Over the last month she has suggested many things that she'd like at her birthday party but I told her that we were not having a big birthday party with lots of friends this year, instead it would be a small one with only family. What a better way to have a birthday party than at Grammy and Grampy's house with lots of family that she doesn't get to see much.

I intended to have cake, sing Happy Birthday, give a gift and call it a party. My sisters, Ashley and Shelly, decided to take the small idea and run with it. Aunt Ashley bought all sorts of Disney Princess decorations. Aunt Shelly brought a giant balloon bouquet. My mom had spread the word with other family members that would be here so they brought gifts too.

Carley got a surprise party this year, which was one of her wishes, and boy was she surprised. Daddy and Grampy had taken her to the shop to look for the cupcakes we'd baked. When they came back to the house, the dining area had been decorated and we were hiding back so she couldn't see us. Suprise!! At first she was a little embarrassed and said "Mom, it's not my birthday" but quickly got into birthday mode.

I think it turned into a party she'll remember. Thank you to all you who helped pull this together. It was fun.
