My kids don't know that though. They love Halloween. And I couldn't make it a drag for them just because I'm busy.

I let the kids design and carve their own jack O' lanterns. Josh only needed help scooping out the 'guts.'

I did assist Carley with some of the carving.

They enjoyed running their hands through the goo. We turned this into roasted pumpkin seeds. Yum!

I think their jack o' lanterns came out pretty good. I love that they look happy.

One favorite activity is to dig through the Halloween box and try on different past costumes. I was completely against it this year because they usually leave a trail of Halloween attire around the house but after pleas and promises that they'd put it away, I agreed.

So I took pictures, of course.

Lots of different dress-up stuff can be found in our Halloween box. Even old 3D glasses.

They had fun and after they were done, all the Halloween things were put away as promised. And without arguing.

Josh decided last month that he wanted to be a zombie. We all followed suit and became a zombie family.

We had a lot of fun with it.
This is the first time in three years that we were in our neighborhood for Halloween. The past two Halloweens were spent in Washington for weddings. Remember THIS and THIS?

The kids had a great time trick-or-treating with some friends.

About an hour into our hour-twenty-minute trek, the kids took a break to scope out and taste a couple of their goodies.

There are several houses on our block that go all out with decorations. Those are, of course, our favorites to visit.

Our block is very popular for trick-or-treaters and I think it's due to the house on the corner. He puts out nearly 70 jack o' lanterns every year. It's fascinating to see the different ones. He's done it every year since we've been here and that's 10 Halloweens now!

This is his "graveyard" and my favorite.
There you have it, another Halloween down. The kids had fun and it only took me a little time to help make it fun for them. They're worth it, right?
