Tuesday, the kids and I came home from an hour at the gym and a few errands to find that Buddy, our terrier, was missing. The gate was closed and Smokey was there as usual. We drove around the neighborhood a couple times and I called the local shelter but no luck. Hours had passed, no one had seen him.
By the time Walt came home from work, four hours after me, I had fliers made to hang around the neighborhood. He called a couple local vets but nothing. Then he left to hang the fliers. We were sick at the thought of maybe not getting Buddy back.

Of course I put my phone numbers on but I just didn't feel like sharing with the world.
After browsing the shelters website of current animal pickups, no Buddy, I checked Lost and Found on craigslist.com. There he was! I knew it as soon as I saw the heading. I couldn't believe it! I was so relieved.
Buddy followed two boys to their friend's house near a busy street. They were worried about him getting hit so took him home to their mom. She took him to have his microchip found but all the information was a dead end leading to my sister's old contact information, posted on craigslist and even hung two signs in the neighborhood. I'm so grateful to her and everything she did to get him back to us. We are so happy to have him home!
Now that leads us to today...
Walt took today off of work so I could attend a transfer-student orientation at California State University, Sacramento - Sac State. It was a full day of orientation. We went over Gen Ed, Major courses, had a couple workshops, got a tour of the campus and registered for classes. It's official! I'm a Sac State student. I got my ID card -aka One Card- and all.

See. Official.

This is the course catalog. It's thick. Much thicker than the one from ARC. And Sac State is such a large campus compared to what I'm used to. Today I didn't get lost but I'm counting on it a time or two during the first semester.
While I was at the orientation, Walt rebuilt the gates on the side of our house. We're pretty sure that's where Buddy squeezed through. And I do mean squeezed. There are a couple more things to do to finish it up but it looks like it can hold the pesky dog in.

It's been a heck of three days to start off the Summer.
