Over the weekend, my friend, Wendy, and I had a yard sale. Josh loves yard sales. The night before he told me "I'm so excited for tomorrow" and when I asked why he said "I just love yard sales." Hmm. Who knew?

Carley on the other hand has been dying to have a lemonade stand. It's been a dream of hers since she was four-years-old.
I decided the yard sale would be a perfect time to let her have her first lemonade stand. I'd be close by to watch her and assist her if she needed it.

She made the sign herself. I helped her set up the table. But business was slow.
Maybe yard sale shoppers don't want to buy lemonade too, maybe they're saving all their quarters for the perfect yard sale find.
The next day, Sunday, she asked to set up her stand again. I let her but made Josh stay out front with her.

They did MUCH better without the yard sale commotion. Many people even paid more than $0.25 a cup. They raked in nearly $10 and that's after making Carley pay $1 for supplies.

Now she wants to have a lemonade stand daily. I told her maybe next month.

Oh my, it makes me laugh and smile! And remember when you were a bit younger than Carley, you were 5, you wanted to sell the "Beautiful Rocks" you found in the driveway. So I let you sell them to our neighbors. :-)
