#56: Ride a horse on an ocean beach. Check.
The week before school started for the kids, we camped at the coast with a friend of mine and her son, who is Josh's friend. While we were there, Carley and I took a trail and beach ride on horseback. I didn't search it out but it presented itself to us. I took the opportunity to do it!

Although my family owned horses for a few years when I was younger, I was still a little freaked out at first. I didn't feel in control of the beast and I felt so high up.

We rode a trail through MacKerricher State Park to Ten Mile Beach. By the time we got to the beach I felt more comfortable on the horse.

Carley and her horse were led by the guide.

Carley has wanted to ride a horse for years. She occasionally asks. This time it worked out. She loved every minute of it.

I loved it too. It was such a great feeling to know I was able to share this experience with Carley. And it was an even better feeling to know that even though I may never cross every single thing off my Life List, at least I did one.
During our 4-day, 3-night stay in Fort Bragg we visited tide pools, saw seals, went to Glass Beach, played in the sand and the ocean, the boys made a fort, and we did all the other fun camping things like ate s'mores.
Here are some pictures of camping:
