Concert in the Park

Saturday evening we went to Pops in the Park in an East Sacramento Park. It was a nice evening (actually a little too chilly once the sun started setting) to get out with a huge crowd while listening to a swing band, visiting with friends and enjoying a picnic dinner.






Check out our new picnic blanket, basket and goodies. I won it from a drawing when we were at the Veggie Chase Race! I never would have purchased it myself and it'll probably end up in a future yard sale but right now we're enjoying it. Yay for picnics!




The kids spent most of the time at the playgrounds in the park. They had loads of fun.


My friend, Christy, lives close enough that she rode her bike over to hang out.


Walt's friend, Kenny, also lives in the neighborhood and rode his bike to the concert. Only after we picked up his dog and ice chest from his house.


Josh made friends with Oliver, Ken's dog. They played keep-away with the soccer ball. Oliver really likes soccer balls.







It was a really great, "out of our box" evening.
