Day 1 of 7: Fort Bragg

I know, I know. I'm a day late starting my 7 days of news posts. But here we go. Come back again tomorrow.

Back in April, nearly two months ago, we went to Fort Bragg, CA to attend Chris and Wendy's wedding. Finally I'm posting about it.

The wedding was on Saturday. Walt took Friday off, we scooped the kids out of school early and arrived in Fort Bragg Friday afternoon to stretch out the weekend as much as possible.




Wendy and Chris got married at the Point Cabrillo lighthouse and were staying at one of the houses on that property. We were able to go down and check it out Friday evening.


Saturday, before the wedding, we went to Van Damme State Park and walked part of the Fern Canyon Trail. Our friend, Christy, joined us. I had been dying to get out in nature and shake the go-go-go of life. The trail was perfect for that.










Josh liked finding little spots to camouflage himself. Do you see him?


Josh kept hiding on the walk back to the car... until he hid in a bunch of stinging nettles. That was the end of that.




We also went to Glass Beach. I had been with the kids last summer when we went camping with our friends, Susan and Tanner.


It was Christy's first time there so she spent the most time looking through the glass "rocks."


Carley spent her time in the dirt.






Walt shocked me when he decided to jump off the cliff like the kids did last year. He didn't even test it out first; he just jumped! He landed it and survived.

The wedding was in the evening as the sun was going down. The ceremony was simple and beautiful. I was honored to photograph the wedding and reception dinner for Wendy and Chris. But I'll post about that another day.

The weekend get away to the coast to celebrate a friend's wedding was exactly what we needed. We had a wonderful time.
