Except Josh woke up sick. His throat was sore and his eyes looked like he had a fever. Poor boy. He spent the entire day sleeping in the room.
Carley stayed home from school sick one day the week before the cruise. I was nervous someone else would come down with her bug and it turns out Josh was in line.
The rest of us hung outside on the pool deck for most of the day. It seemed like the place to be for a family friendly party. There was various events on the pool deck, like ice carving and a hairy chest contest. How could we miss that?
The weather was a mostly cloudy and a little cold so I don't think I got in the pool once.
Cool weather won't stop Carley from swimming.
Carley swam a lot and made new friends.
Walt and I enjoyed the music of Chris Miller. He played all cover songs, because he had to, but he was really good.
We wandered around, checked things out and got to know the boat a little.
Josh was still sleeping in the room. He did managed to get up and get himself soft-serve ice cream around 7 o'clock. After about an hour, he was turning in for the night.
I was really distracted most of the day worrying about Josh missing out on the cruise, worrying about if Josh would be better for the scheduled excursion the next day, and worrying about anyone else coming down with the flu.
Elegant attire was scheduled for dinner that night. Walt, Carley and I dressed up and went to dinner.
For entertainment, the wait staff sang "That's Amore" and requested that the couples dance. Walt danced with me! I guess a cruise helps him cut loose.
Carley was always thrilled with the dessert choices. She usually chose something chocolate. This is Chocolate Melting Cake, a favorite.
We had an early morning planned the next day so turned in shortly after dinner.
To be continued....
