We loaded up the dogs and hit the road for a hike near Folsom Lake.
It was just after 9 a.m. and the weather was perfect.
We walked and walked.
(I love a wide lens and this perspective.)
We took a break to have a snack and check the trail directions again.
It seemed we were on the right trail but after a while I had a feeling it wasn't going to loop like it should. We decided to return the way we came.
The kids fought over who got to walk Buddy.
They decided to take turns.
By the time we got back to the lake the kids were ready to take a dip in the lake.
We didn't bring suits or towels but they managed.
Poor Buddy, being shortest and usually in the lead, got the majority of the burrs. He had them all over his face and jaw.
I also found a couple ticks on him. Eew! It was my first time seeing and dealing with ticks. I stayed brave. Once we were home, Josh and I spent what felt like an hour cutting off burrs and pulling one tick out of Buddy. He was so happy when we were done.
I was happy when we were done.
Now for those household duties I put off.
