Friday, August 1st. Seattle.

Both my mom and Dave had to work Friday so I took the kids to Seattle for the day. We did a little bit of everything.
We caught the ferry out of Bainbridge over to Seattle...
...had lunch on Post Alley, just up from Pike Place...

...made poses in The Bon's back window...

...walked through the fountain at Westlake Center...

...rode the Monorail to the Seattle Center...

...rode a ferris wheel at the Seattle Center...

...climbed through art features at the Seattle Center...

...caught the bus to Pioneer Square...

...walked through Occidental Park...

...browsed at Elliott Bay Books...

...and sang on the ferry back to Bainbridge Island.

It wasn't until I stepped on the boat over to Seattle, just like I used to when I commuted to work there, that I realized just how much I missed that city. For some reason it just speaks to me, deeply. I love being there, being a part of it. I dragged the kids everywhere just to get as much in a day as I could and found afterwards that it wasn't enough. I didn't to go to Dick's Drive In to get lunch. I didn't to go to Broadway and browse for clothes in the used clothes stores. I didn't catch a bus up to Green Lake to rent rollerblades for the day. I didn't get coffee from a coffee cart on the street. There is so much I didn't do in the single day I was there and I desperately want to go back.
